Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is an international testing and certification system for textiles, focusing primarily on limiting the use of harmful chemicals in the textile industry. The certification body tests for over 100 harmful substances in the raw textile intermediate and end products to make sure none is left in the fabric at all stages of the manufacturing process.

Washing & Care Instructions:

Washing Recommendations:

Ettitude sheets are made for your everyday use and they’re easy to care. Just make sure you use cold water setting at 30°C max, a gentle cycle or a a high water level option if your machine has this feature. Remember to wash your sheets separately because zippers, hooks, rough fabric like denim, can cause pilling and excess abrasion.

A mild, liquid detergent works best. If you prefer powder detergent, make sure it has dissolved before adding your bamboo lyocell sheets to the wash. Fabric softener is not necessary with our sheets - they are already soft and will stay that way after washing.

Fabric Brightener:

It is suggested not to use any fabric brightener or whitening detergent with harsh chemicals on your bamboo lyocell sheets. You can try a baking soda and vinegar mixture as a mild ‘bleach’. Start by adding 1/2 cup of baking soda to the wash cycle if machine washing, or at the same time that you add detergent if hand washing. Next, add 1/2 cup of white vinegar during the rinse cycle. These two ingredients help brighten white fabrics. However, it is important to add them during separate cycles and avoid combining them, as this causes a chemical reaction.

Please note this method could cause fading on dark colours so use it only with care on light colour or white sheets. You can test the solution first on a hidden area or the bamboo lyocell fabric bag your bedding comes in.

Natural Cleaning Solutions:

You can incorporate natural solutions into your washing routine like baking soda and white vinegar mixture. Chemical-free soap nuts are another popular alternative to traditional detergent.

Drying & Wrinkles:

If possible, line dry your sheets by draping them flat on the line to preserve fibres, colours and texture, you sheets will also straighten out when you line dry them! If you use a dryer, choose a low heat or airing setting and a low tumble cycle. As soon as the dryer finishes, remove your sheets from the dryer immediately to avoid wrinkles.

A large benefit of bamboo lyocell sheets, comes from their ability to drape very well. Even if there are wrinkles from being washed or stored, they gradually go away in a few sleeps. By the time you hit bed at night, they are flat and fresh, ready to give you the good nights sleep you deserve. If you are after a crispier look immediately, you can iron them at a low temperature.

Maintenance:

Bleach is a no-no when it comes to our delicate bamboo lyocell fabric, it is too harsh that it would damage the surface and eat a hole on your sheets. Try a mild, eco-friendly pre-soak and stain remover for removing light stains.

If you use a stain remover, we suggest doing a test on the bamboo lyocell fabric bag your bedding comes in to make sure the product doesn’t damage the fabric at all.

You won’t have to worry about your Bamboo Lyocell shrinking as they have been pre-washed and pre-shrunk. However, we do not recommend drying your products in high heat.
